How many people does the villa sleep?
Villa Rustica is a self catering holiday rental which sleeps ten people in four bedrooms. There are three double beds and two bunk beds. One of the rooms has a double bed and a bunk bed.

Is this villa suitable for children?
Yes, this house is suitable for children, however there are no stair gates and there are hazards such as balconies and low walls.

Is this villa suitable for wheelchair users?
Unfortunately this house is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Is the house equipped with air-conditioning?
No, there is no air-conditioning, however there are windows in each room that are covered with mosquito netting, so they can be left open when you are in the house and at night.

Is there a minimum night stay?
Yes, depending on the season.  For example, during peak holiday periods the minimum stay is 7 nights.

Are there weekly rates and can we book for less time?
All our rates are on a weekly basis. Where no minimum stay is in place, then a 3 night break is charged at - 40% off weekly tariff / 4 night break - 30% off weekly tariff / 5 night break - 20% off weekly tariff / 6 night break - 10% off weekly tariff.  The full service fee still applies to reduced stays.

Is there a daily meal charge?
No, we do not offer meal options.

Is it possible to add additional guests later?
Yes, the house is rented as a whole and not per person, so additional guests can be added up to a maximum of 10.

Are the photos in this web site showing the exact villa at Lake Como we would be staying in, along with the views etc?
Yes, this is the exact property you would be staying in.  We try our best to update the website whenever there are new additions to the house that would make your stay even more comfortable.

Can we hire a cook/maid/baby sitter while we are there?
No, finding local babysitters and cooks is difficult.

Is this a no smoking property?
Yes, this is no smoking property.

Are pets allowed?

How far is the lake?
The lake can be accessed down a rough path through the woods.  The path is quite difficult and steep in places.  It takes 5-10 minutes to reach the lake.

Can we moor our boat near the house?
There is a buoy on the lake for use entirely at your own risk. There is no pontoon or jetty.

Is there any night life? How far away?
This Lake Como villa is intended for relaxing holidays and there is no night life in the immediate vicinity.  The closest restaurant is a 20 minute walk and many more are accessible by car and boat.

Who would be our contact for anything we may need while we are there?
There is support available via phone and email and you’ll find all the details at the villa.

Are cots available to rent?
Yes, there is a cot and a travel cot available and two high chairs. This service is free of charge.

Is the price of the unit per person?
No, all the prices are for the entire house and they include taxes.

What are some of the extra expenses (e.g. travel from airport to villa)?
The house rental does not include food costs, transfers, activities, personal expenses, etc.

How do I arrange for transportation?
We recommend you hire a car for your stay, however see the "Getting Here" page for more details.

How are groceries obtained?
The closest grocery shops are in Sorico or Nuovo Olonio, a 15 minute drive away.  See "Local Information" for more details.

Do you offer discounted weekly rates?
Discounts are at our discretion and will be advertised when offered.  Discounts may also be considered for stays longer than 14 nights and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

How much privacy will we have around the property?
The villa is quite secluded and is surrounded by its own land.  Mountain bikers and walkers sometimes pass by and depending on the wind, you might hear music from a bar on the other side of the lake in high summer.

Who cleans the house? Is the maid included?
The service charge includes final cleaning and the provision of an extra set of sheets and towels for stays exceeding 7 nights.  Towels and bedlinen can be changed more frequently during your stay and additional cleaning can be provided but both these are provided at extra cost.

Is there Internet access?
Yes, there is wireless Broadband internet free of charge.

Is there satellite TV?
No. There is a television, DVD player, amplifier and docking station but no connection to local or satellite television.

Is there a BBQ?
Yes, there is a wood fired stone BBQ and a seating area outside.
